Start Thinking About the Summer!

Summer Program Offerings!

Cambridge Youth programs will be offering several summer programs to serve the needs of our young people.

The Frisoli Youth Center, located at 61 Willow Street, will be sponsoring the Girls’ Empowerment Program, focusing on young girls, ages 9-13. The focus is for young women to explore a host of enriching activities, including self-defense, volleyball, tennis, swimming, arts, science and other academic areas, field trips and more.

The Area IV Youth Center, located at 243 Harvard Street, will be hosting the Sports Leadership Academy (SLA). The SLA is for boys and girls interested in learning, practicing, and playing sports for the summer. Each participant will be involved in soccer, basketball, swimming, tennis, and more. While the emphasis is on athletics, activities will also focus on enrichment, leadership and sportsmanship.

The Discovery Program will take place at the new West Cambridge Youth Center, located at 688 Huron Avenue. This program will provide opportunities for youth to develop a wide range of interests and to express themselves through performing and visual arts, science exploration, sports and other fun activities.

The three pre-teen programs are options for all 9-13 year olds in Cambridge. All programs will run June 29th through August 14th. The hours of operation are 8:30am-6:00pm. Finally, the fee for each program is $60.00 per week. All 13 year olds are free for the summer. Financial Aid is available to qualified applicants.

The Middle School Partnership is a brand new program offering for this summer.

Designed especially for youth entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades in the Fall, the program offers a variety of fun and enriching activities, ranging from sports and arts instruction to self-defense and science. Healthy living and leadership development are central themes in the curriculum.

The program will run June 29th through August 14th, from 8:30am-6:00pm. There will be no fee for 7th and 8th graders, but there will be a $60.00 per week fee for entering 6th grade participants.

All participants must complete an updated summer application packet prior to the beginning of the summer program.
